Zendikar — What to buy

Magic the Gathering Zendikar

Deadly Perils, Priceless Treasures

Zendikar is nearly upon us, being released to the stores in October of 2009. Now the question a lot of newbies ask is: “Trick! Help me! What should I spend money on in the new set?” and so I set up this page. There are three main sealed products I recommend. Once the full set is released I’ll post the cards I think you should keep an eye on.

Zendikar Fat Pack

Want a Zendikar Fat Pack?
Get it from Cool Stuff!
Fat packs are a special bundle of items from the set. The Zendikar fat packs are going to be especially popular as they contain land packs of the full card-art lands coming in Zendikar. It also contains:

  • A player’s guide
  • 1 card box with panoramic art
  • 8 Zendikar booster packs
  • Excerpt from the most recent Magic novel
  • Zendikar spin-down life counter
  • Pack of 40 Full Art Zendikar basic lands.

Zendikar Booster Boxes

Zendikar Magic the Gathering booster box Booster Boxes are the best way to get cards from the new set (unless you’re just going to get the cards you need, in that case buy singles.) But for those eager to get cards and looking for the pure joy of opening packs, then a booster box is the way to go. Demand is definitely high for this upcoming set! Booster box prices are normally around $80 and they’ve inched up to around $90.

Zendikar Intro Decks

Want all five Zendikar Theme Decks?
There is no easier way to introduce friends to Magic rather than to sit them down with some theme decks and let them start playing straight away. Zendikar, like other Magic the Gathering sets, offers five different intro decks designed to be picked up and played. Definitely grab one or two of these to play with your friends, or as an easy way to get a group game going!
