• StarCi­tyGames — Abe Sar­gent — The Great­est Casual Screw of All Time — Abe turns back time and dis­cusses two of the rules changes from 6th edition.
• Man­a­Na­tion — New Magic Online Pro­to­type — Trick got a sneak peek at the future of Magic Online.

Tues­day, Oct. 20th 2009

• Chan­nelFire­ball — Luis Scott-Vargas — Reboot­ing my Draft Strat­egy — Lots of inter­est­ing draft strat­egy discussion.

Wednes­day, Oct. 21st, 2009

• Chan­nelFire­ball — David Ochoa — Bleed­ing BBQ Sauce, a PT Austin Report *21st* — A great tour­na­ment report from Pro Tour Austin.
• Man­a­Na­tion — Magic the Class­room — Choices Park 1 — Dan breaks out his les­son on choices as the first part in a series on sealed deck.

Thurs­day, Oct. 22nd, 2009

• StarCi­tyGames– Shel­don Men­ery – EDH Deck­build­ing The­ory — Though we had our own EDH Primer a few weeks ago, this is a great break­down of how to go about build­ing your first EDH deck.
• Man­a­Na­tion — Magic Eco­nom­ics — Goal Set­ting in Magic — Kelly Reid of Quiet Spec­u­la­tion explains the impor­tance of set­ting your goals, both finan­ciall and competitively.
• Stark­ing­ton­Post — Inter­view with Pro Tour-Austin Champ Brian Kibler — There were a num­ber of Kibler inter­views posted this week and I think this one was the most enter­tain­ing and inter­est­ing of them.

Fri­day, Oct. 23rd, 2009

• StarCi­tyGames– Max Knowlan – My Oppo­nent Dis­qual­i­fied Me… — A few weeks ago the rules changed to allow TOs and Judges to play in cer­tain events. Max does a good break­down of how and why.
• TCG­Player — Noah Whin­ston — Bring­ing down the Drag­on­mas­ter — With the vic­tory at Pro Tour Austin, Rubin Zoo (as played by Kibler) is going to be big at the upcom­ing Extended metagame for PT San Juan. Noah looks at its weak­nesses and con­sid­ers how to beat it.

Due to Pro Tour Austin and a lot of work catch­ing up this week I didn’t get to sift through forums too much this week, hope­fully after Grand Prix Tampa I can go back to my forum lurk­ing ways. We’re in a def­i­nite slow down in rumors. World­wake is in a lull which will pick up around the new year unless some­thing unex­pected leaks.

Next week we should see the 2010 Grand Prix Sched­ule released. And that will set off a cas­cade of other tour­na­ment dates as it will allow the StarCi­tyGames 5ks and the recently announced TCG­Player 5k dates to be final­ized. That will gen­er­ate a great deal of buzz as we see where the game will be going next year.
