It seems Spoiler week threw a lot of peo­ple off this week, that’s why this issue of This Week in Magic is run­ning so late. But also the mid­dle of this week was rather bar­ren of arti­cles which I wanted to fea­ture her, so bear with me. Also, I repub­lish the read­ing list below. Lots of updates, a num­ber of blogs on death row and one back from the grave.

• 99EDH — Com­pet­i­tive Casual — Har­vest Time — EDH around Teneb, the Har­vester. I sup­port this!

Tues­day, Jan. 12th, 2010

• Man­a­Na­tion — Rain­bow Stair­well — Yawgmoth’s Storm — Ben McDole has been on a Rain­bow Stair­well spree and he shared his attempt at a combo deck in the format.
• Man­a­Na­tion — Mak­ing Psy­chic Con­nec­tions — Lau­ren Lee, with her 2nd arti­cle, dis­cusses player men­tal­i­ties and how to make the most of them.
• Five with Flo­res — Build­ing a Bet­ter Cruel Ulti­ma­tum — Mike Flo­res doing what he does best, just read it.

Wednes­day, Jan. 13th, 2010

• Man­a­Na­tion — Exam­in­ing Mono-Blue in Stan­dard — Rus­sell takes a few stabs at run­ning mono-blue in stan­dard and what those decks might look like.
• Man­a­Na­tion — Inspi­ra­tions — Dan Eck­stein also does some deck design and shares some ideas he’s come up with.

Thurs­day, Jan. 14th, 2010

• Man­a­Na­tion — If You Can’t Beat ‘em, Join ‘Em — Kelly shares the story of his deck and per­for­mance at the Mid­west Mas­ters Qual­i­fier last weekend.
• XMTG — Avatar’s Zendikar — XMTG comic about the sim­i­lar­i­ties of Pan­dora and Zendikar…
• Chan­nelFire­ball — An Extended Set of Rules — Ben Stark gives some great advice and lays out some good rules for suc­cess in Extended.

• Man­a­Na­tion — Ep. 96 — Exclu­sive World­wake Spoiler — This weeks episode was delayed so that we could share the new spoiler card for World­wake.
• Man­a­Na­tion — JBoots’ ZEN Ten
• Man­a­Na­tion — A Bet­ter One Card Combo — Dis­cussing Shapeshift / Valakut in Extended, a great overview with three deck­lists and side­board strategy.
• Tapped — Shadow:ed — I love the art and the story is begin­ning to pick up.
• MTGSal­va­tion — Uncon­ven­tional Cubes — I loved this dis­cus­sion about some unusual, one-off ideas for cubes to be built and played with.
• Wiz­ards — Look­ing Back with the Cov­er­age Team — Brian David-Marshall talks to the cov­er­age team about the past decade of Magic.
• StarCi­tyGames — Drag­on­mas­ter Out­cast — Brian Kibler is known as ‘The Drag­on­mas­ter’ and he cov­ers a pre­view card wor­thy of the name. He also gives some excel­lent com­men­tary on the card and its prospects.
