LAVACLAW REACHES
Let's look at it this way... if a control player doesn't have a creature in play, Lavaclaw Reaches is an REUSABLE banefire. (where X equals 2 or greater)

ABYSASAL PERSECTOR
I don't know about you, but I think this card is UNDER hyped. Look at it's playability in other formats! I can easily see this card getting tons of play in place of (or along side) Tombstalker.
You just need to get your head past the "draw back". Like you, it will eventually die. Get over it.

Allies thus far have been to difuse in colors. If the population in each color grows I do feel there will be workable deck out there.

I think the big problem with the Lavaclaw Reaches is how much mana it requires to get that unrestricted damage.

You need to spend three to activate and then are essentially spending one more to attack with it. Even with some acceleration, you're probably only looking at, what, three or four extra damage after turn 6? Compared to the UW land, which has evasion and doesn't tap itself to attack, it doesn't seem like a great benefit. Plus, at 2 toughness, the Reaches are really easy to kill.

I couldn't agree more on your remarks toward Admonition Angel and the manland(s).

First, Admonition Angel's body and ability are pretty legit. It's a beater if it sticks around and can win games on it's own. I don't like what you don't like. As soon as she gets killed, the game is back to the state it was before.

And holy buckets, I took a look on ebay, manlands are cheap. Like, $2 a piece cheap (incidentally, I just bought a playset of Lavaclaw for $8). I think I'm going to buy playsets of each just so I have excellent trade-bait later (and I want to make the soon-popular manland.dec). If this is a land matters block, then these are definitely going to be coming up in price.
