Updates to Reprint Policy

They announced a number of reprints from the Reserved list.

Addressing the community’s concerns over the rumored changes to the Reprint Policy, Wizards announced this year’s coming reprints from the Reserved list. That list is as follows:

Duel Decks: Phyrexia vs. the Coalition (March 19)
Phyrexian Negator

From the Vault: Relics (August 27)
Karn, Silver Golem
Masticore
Memory Jar
Mox Diamond

Judge Promos (various)
Phyrexian Dreadnought
Morphling
Thawing Glaciers
Wheel of Fortune

After these cards are printed and released, Wizards is modifying the Reprint Policy for the Reserved List to seal the ‘loophole’ that allowed them to print Premium versions of reserved cards as they did not affect what formats they were legal in. After the above cards are released that hole is removed and cards on the Reserved List will be protected from any sort of reprinting.

  4. I don’t think they needed to do this, but I accept that there should have been some reassurance that the really expensive cards wouldn’t be reprinted. The problem of Legacy being priced out of reach can be addressed without reprints, by creating a new eternal format which excludes the more expensive cards.
