TCGPlayer 5k Series Official

It was on their web­site last week but we just received the offi­cial infor­ma­tion for the upcom­ing $5,000 Tour­na­ment spon­sored by TCGPlayer.com. The infor­ma­tion was orig­i­nally pub­lished here.

Syra­cuse, NY — Octo­ber 26, 2009 — Last week TCGplayer.com announced the launch of a new Magic: the Gath­er­ing tour­na­ment series. The TCGplayer.com $5k Series will be mov­ing from city to city, with the ini­tial launch begin­ning in Philadel­phia on Sun­day, Decem­ber 13th. These events will also be fea­tur­ing excit­ing side events, guest artists and gun­sling­ing opportunities.

Magic: the Gath­er­ing Hall of Fame mem­ber Robert Dougherty, who is the head orga­nizer for these events, had this to say:

“This is going to be a great tour­na­ment series. We are putting these events on with local pre­mier tour­na­ment orga­niz­ers and judges who have a proven track record of run­ning high qual­ity events. Gamingetc.com and StrikezoneOnline.com will be on hand to buy and sell. Each event will have Magic artists and gun­slingers (includ­ing myself). It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Between my work as a store owner, pre­mier tour­na­ment orga­nizer and Hall of Fame pro player I’ve really got­ten a lot out of Magic. It’s really nice to be able to give some­thing back to the game and player community.”

The TCGplayer.com $5k in Philadel­phia also coin­cides with a PTQ event on Sat­ur­day, Decem­ber 12th mak­ing for an entire Magic Weekend!
