Sun­day, Novem­ber 8th — Magic the Gath­er­ing Pro Tour San Diego Qualifier

Loca­tion: TNLG Tour­na­ment Cen­ter Nashville, TN
Start Times: Reg­is­tra­tion is from 8am-10am with event start­ing after reg­is­tra­tion
Infor­ma­tion: Qual­ify for Pro Tour, prizes include boxes of prod­uct and the top place receiv­ing an invi­ta­tion to com­pete at the First Pro Tour of 2010.
For­mat: The for­mat for this event will be Sealed Deck using Zendikar prod­uct, with Swiss Rounds and a cut to the top 8. Each player will be given (6) Booster packs of Zendikar. Play­ers will then con­struct a (40) card-minimum using cards only obtained from those packs. Any card not in the main deck will be used for a Side­board. We will pro­vide any lands needed for deck con­struc­tion. Play­ers may not trade, add or change any cards in their card pool. Play­ers will be paired in a num­ber of swiss rounds based upon atten­dance. Each player may play in all rounds of Swiss. After all swiss rounds have com­pleted a cut to the top eight play­ers will be made. Those top 8 play­ers will play a single-elimination play­off for the top prizes.
Cost: The cost for this event will be $30.00 per player.
Prizes: We will be adding (3) booster packs of cur­rent prod­uct to the prize pool for each entry into the event. Our goal is to pay­out the top 20% of play­ers into the event. For exam­ple if an event had 110 play­ers the top 24 play­ers would receive booster pack prizes with a scale sys­tem to award the higher players.

In addi­tion the top 8 Play­ers will receive top 8 pins (cour­tesy of Wiz­ards of the Cost). First Place will also receive an invi­ta­tion and travel voucher to com­pete at Pro Tour Hon­olulu. Wiz­ards of the Coast has sus­pended Amat­uer prize pay­outs for all PTQs. TNLG will con­tinue to add (2) boxes of prize prod­uct to the pool to be given out to the top (4) Amat­uers not mak­ing the top 8 cut. — Full prize pay­outs will be avail­able at the site after round 2.
