Planeswalker Hunt Day 4 – Complete!
And so we enter the home stretch of the chase with ‘Jace, the Mind Sculptor.’ We believe we’ve got all four mechanics figured out, but today’s pieces will confirm that and provide us with the costs of those abilities. Given that Jace is a four ability planeswalker we’re likely in for some surprises and we can’t be sure of the other standards derived from the Planeswalkers.

Jace so far:
Update 12:11am: Added 401games.ca as the location in Toronto per a user from MTGSalvation.
Update 12:12am: Added GMI Games as California store.
Update 11:05am: Piece has been picked up from Toronto store. Waiting for it to be posted.
Update 7:06pm: Just received word that GMI Games has finally been able to release the Jace puzzle piece, so we may finally get the whole image though I don’t know how close we’ll be to the Midnight hour when Wizards will release their version of the whole card.
Update 7:13pm: Moments after the last update we have the final piece in our hands and have updated the composite!

Just called riveside location. we won’t be updated until tomorrow, and they open at noon pacific time. :(
So, is there a rule or something that these guys can’t give the piece out till the next day, or are they just opting not to be open at midnight?

They have to wait until the day of, and for someone to physically come into the store and request the piece.
If my ex was into Magic at all I’d get her to go down and request it.

No, we know it is only 1 + ability, the second box is barely visible and it doesn’t have the upward arc needed to have a plus ability.
Darn, that ultimate ability is insane…. one of the best ultimates possessed by any known planeswalker, definatly i think!
0 for brainstorm???? thats wrong on so many levels, I can see this as a 1-2 of in a jacerator deck though
just a little over 2 hours till the last piece’s store location opens!
I’m wondering if it’s 0 ablility isn’t exactly Brainstorm. What if it says “then put three cards…”
that would be more of zero.
On a sidenote I don’t think 0 change fits flavor wise. The idea is a walker is loyal to you. they get more loyal when you ask them to do something they like and less loyal when it causes them to work.
We are definite on the 2nd ability courtesy of the japanese slice yesterday, the translation confirmed it would be draw three and put back 2.

yeah i just looked that up too…. its the only Jas artist nanme that fits without going into another piece… there are only 2 confirmed Jas artists in wizards’ data base…
Jason also did the counterspell with Jace on it.
wouldn’t it be something if that card store got the card piece and threw it away because they thought it was part of some bogus prank or something?

The piece was not claimed until 3:30 PM Pacific Time, and we could not provide any information ’til claimed (per WotC).

the ultimate is nuts, makes Nico Bolas’ look like crap
maybe they can reprint stifle, just for giggles . . .
kinda cool especially in a turbo fog deck, if you can protect it
