Magic the Gathering Grand Prixes

The Grand Prix circuit is the level of competition one step below the Pro Tour. Unlike the Pro Tour, which is only able to be attended by those invited or qualified, the Grand Prixes are open to anyone who wishes to attend. There is a “main” event along with countless side events including Pro Tour Qualifiers, drafts, EDH tournaments and others.

The way the Grand Prixes reward the higher level of players is to award ‘Round Byes’ to those who rank higher. These are awarded based on the Pro Points earned by players, or by winning the tournaments called ‘Grand Prix Trials’ or ‘GPTs.’
