Jonathan Boutin DQed from Worlds

As was announced a few hours ago on the World Championships’s official Wizards.com coverage (link), three players were disqualified from the World Championships in Rome on Day 2 of the tournament, one of whom was ManaNation.com’s own contributor Jonathan Boutin, better known as ‘JBoots.’

ManaNation.com is dedicated to teaching Magic and being a positive resource for players, for which Jonathan has been a staple member providing valuable draft videos and game play commentary for nearly two months, including one posted just this morning.

We were quite surprised by the news of his disqualification from the tournament and are currently in the process of looking further into what happened. We are unsure what, if any, action will be taken at this time.

  1. Wow… this is quite surprising. If it has to deal with the rules again then OMG. MODO should replace all judges and enforce everything by itself. If its not the rules then OMG.

    Looking forward to details.

  2. Jon Boutin is not someone who would cheat, this is rediculous. Jasar is a good player, we wouldn’t need to. I’m calling shenanigans on the judges
