Drafting with JBoots — M10 draft #1

Adding to our col­lec­tion of writ­ers, we’ve got Jon Boutin, one of the top Magic play­ers in Canada. He’s cur­rently ranked #4 in the DCI rank­ings for Canada, he’ll be play­ing at Worlds as a mem­ber of the Cana­dian Team, and he’ll be con­tribut­ing M10 draft videos here for ManaNation.

Here we see “JBoots” draft a rather aston­ish­ing mono-black deck that I know I def­i­nitely wouldn’t want to face. He does a great job explain­ing his picks and his logic behind them, so sit back and watch as he drafts and builds this Magic 2010 draft.

  4. dread war­lock over whis­per­silk cloak is the right call. You draft really slow so I couldnt watch the rest though

  6. The War­lock vs Cloak pick was pretty close and either pick would have been fine.
    I would like to go back and pick the Cloak after the fact, but that might be because I didn’t take down the draft. :P
