Except the fact that it was written in 2009. That's a pretty good reason.

I can't see a single reason for primeval titan to not be in this deck. dropping him gives you quite a presence on the board as well as letting you search for 2 valakuts or 2 mountains that turn and every turn after until they remove him... I'd probably run 2-4 primeval titans in any RG valakut deck in current standard.

First: I do appoligize you are correct that the card "recross the paths" is rotating out that is my mistake. Which will be addressed in the next article.

Second: I know i am using land ramp and mana ramp. The reason i did this was beacause the new set has not revealed much in the way of mana ramp add-ons yet and i am planning to evolve the deck to include them.

I want to thank everyone for the comments made so far this will make the second half of the article that much better.

I can safely say on two fronts, this deck won't work =)

Recross the paths will not be in standard. Harrow will work.

Second, its way too slow. Based on what we've seen, goblin aggro will destroy slow decks. (T1, Goblin Guide (Enemy Life: 18) T2: Drop Instigator (Enemy Life 16:) T3: Colossal might Instigator, Drop anything (siege gang, goblin lord possible, heck even another Guide/Instigator) Your now in Lightning bolt range.

At best, you can block with a BoP, or Wall of Fire, your still going to take massive damage, and still let (with the Wall) Warren Instigator drop something. Since its turn 3, you most likely won't have mana for damage pump.

Your best bet is to run a Jund Aggro. Plated Geopede, Putrid Leech, Harrow, Ramp Growths, Bloodbraid Elves, ignore the Borderposts, run Fetch lands, etc. Skip the BoPs (They die to sweepers, and since you want them out as fast as possible, they will die quickly. Also, since your not running duals, they aren't helping Elemental Appeal by using up Forests. I say Hellspark/Ball Lightning is better than it. (Unless you go all out Red deck wins with them.. That could get nasty, REAL nasty)

------------
And yes, it will be creature heavy at first, until/if UW Control gets some very strong cards. A single Day of Judgment will ruin everyone's day. Its also my Opinion that Sweepers will be played a lot as well. (My 2nd Tier Megrim deck (yes, it works, went 6-2 in 2 PTQs, and will be better with the rotation, stupid Merfolk) will be running 3 sets of sweepers, maybe more, Plus lightning bolts and Terminates because of this)
------------
I think your deck building skills can be improved :P Your in two different camps with that deck. Mana Ramp and Land Ramp with no focus on either. Without a card draw mechanic rivaling that of Necropotence, you'll be strapped on both sides in short order. I was told a long time ago by someone of fame, something along the lines of "When you build a deck, focus on one aspect, and make it work, make it work well."

So focus on Land ramp, or Mana ramp, they aren't the same :P

Well if this is going to be standard then recross the path is not going to be in the format you should cut 4 giant spider for bogarden hellkite your early ramp can block if necessary cut 4 wall of fire for lavaball trap because if we are going to ramp it's just awesome even at 8 mana the recross the paths can become harrows
