It is our understanding that Matt Place will again be overseeing this expansion (he has overseen the original game its first expansion.) We are waiting for Wizards to confirm this belief.

The above pic is of the box and it uses one of the first pictures we were given for Rise of the Eldrazi.

They show us the contents of the fat pack with everything laid out in view.

With the fat pack they no longer contain a full novel, now its just a sample chapter from the novel.

Gideon

If you don’t recognize Gideon, don’t feel too bad. He’s from the novels, introduced in Chandra’s story line. He will most likely be White, or White+X so we’ll see. Check out the flog attached to his armor, that’s pretty bad ass.

Vol, is he still Sarkhan?

We’ve seen this art before, but here is the full art piece that will be used to make the Planeswalker card. It looks amazing, I love the framing and position. Will he still be Sarkhan Vol? Or will he be ‘Vol, Slave of Bolas’ as has been rumored before? We’ll have to wait and see!

Wizards revealed the five intro decks in today’s Arcana from Wizards, along with it we get the name of five cards. This info has been largely previously identified by MTG Salvation forums, but it is interesting none-the-less.

Five cards we don’t know what they do:

Surrakar Spellblade
Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief
Conquering Manticore
Gigantomancer

Looks like Jace is fighting an Eldrazi in this one, good to see his Emo nature carries through to the blue hair.

News that Hasbro would be looking to do a Magic the Gathering movie first surfaced in 2008 when they signed a deal with Universal Pictures for six games to produce movies about or based on them: Stretch Armstrong, Monopoly, Battleship, Ouija, Candyland and of course Magic.
